After letting him start the year in the G League, the Grizzlies have signed their 2025 second-round pick Jahmai Mashack to a two-way contract. The undrafted rookie could be called upon to provide guard depth in the absence of Ja Morant. Congrats, Jahmai! To make room for Mashack, Memphis waived PJ Hall. The big man was poised for a breakout year and could still realize that potential on another team. He should be a top waiver-wire target.
In an uncommon move, the Grizzlies are choosing not to sign rookie second-round pick Jahmai Mashack to their main roster, instead opting to stash him in the G League to start his rookie year. This move comes after the team signed Olivier-Maxence Prosper to their final open two-way spot. It would be unsurprising to see Mashack get called up midseason if a roster spot is freed up for him.
