Lawson had some fiery performances for the Raptors last season, averaging 9.1 points in 18.7 minutes a night. The Ontario native's shooting will be valuable for a Toronto team that needs help in the spacing department.
A.J. Lawson gave the Raptors a spark off the bench last night, going for 14 points with three triples in 17 minutes. This was the wing's second double-digit outing of the season thus far.

Raptors 905 has won 15 straight games to start the G League season. Their win today in the G League Winter Showcase was fueled by big performances from A.J. Lawson (26 PTS, 5 3PM), Alijah Martin (20 PTS, 5 AST) and David Roddy (20 PTS).
Gradey Dick has been struggling for the Raptors lately, and Darko Rajakovic decided to switch things up and give some of his minutes to A.J. Lawson against the Celtics today. Lawson was ready for his chance, dropping 10 points with two triples in just 13 minutes. Lawson averaged 9.1 points for Toronto in 2024-25 and could be worthy of more burn going forward.

Lawson, who spent 2024-25 with the Raptors, is back with the team on a new two-way contract. The three-year vet fills the spot Toronto opened up by waiving Ulrich Chomche. Congrats, A.J.!
In a surprise move, Toronto has cut 2024 second-round pick Ulrich Chomche from his two-way deal ahead of the regular season. While Chomche didn't play much as a rookie, he's still one of the youngest players in the league at age 19 and he has oodles of untapped potential remaining. Another team should surely snag him up. The Raptors now have one open two-way slot. A.J. Lawson, Jared Rhoden, David Roddy and Olivier Sarr, who were on training camp deals, were also released by the team.
