DJ Carton has come out hot post-All-Star-break for the Birmingham Squadron. The former Ohio State and Marquette guard is showing why he is worth following. He finished with 18 points on 5/8 shooting in a loss to Long Island tonight. The five turnovers stand out, but he is still averaging 5.4 assists to 2.9 turnovers on the year. Season numbers: 15.6 points per game on 49/27/64 splits. Big time athlete with real downhill juice.

Carton, who last played for the San Diego Clippers of the G League, is being dealt to the Squadron, the minor league affiliate of the Pelicans, as part of a four-team deal. NBA vet Elfrid Payton will be joining San Diego in the swap.
